Easily transfer your data
Moving your data is easy—just connect, select, transfer.
Copying your data from your iPhone to your new Android phone is safe and easy. Simply connect the two phones with a cable or pair them wirelessly over Wi-Fi to securely copy your contacts, photos, calendars, and more.
Step 1.Connect both devices.
Connect your iPhone to your new Android phone via cable or follow set-up instructions to transfer your data wirelessly via the Switch to Android app.

When you transfer your photos, videos, messages, and more to your new Android phone, a copy of that data is made. This means that everything remains safe on your old phone. Our transfer process is secure and reliable, but if anything ever goes wrong, all your content will remain on your old device. So, there's absolutely no risk of losing your data during the transfer process—you can have peace of mind that all your data will be safe, no matter what happens.
iCloud is integrated into your iPhone. You can access your iCloud content at www.icloud.com, using your old Apple ID and password.
On Android, you can use the Google One app to sync your iCloud content to Google. Visit privacy.apple.com to request a copy of your data from Apple if you want to move them over.
Good news—Android has corresponding functionality for each. For video calling, you can use the Google Meet app (formerly known as Duo). For texting, you can use Messages, and for AirDrop you can use Nearby Share.
And you’ll still be able to chat with people who have iMessage—to make sure your text messages get sent to your new Android, turn iMessage off before you remove the SIM card from your iPhone. Simply hop into your iPhone Settings > Messages > Off.
Most of your free apps will move over when you use a cable to transfer your data. For apps that you purchased on your iPhone, we recommend contacting the app developer to see what they offer for customers moving to a new device.
Your existing subscriptions will continue to work, but your billing will still be managed the way they are today—either via the app developer or App Store.
Yes! Indicate that you do not have a cable or adapter during the transfer process. You will be directed to transfer your data over to your new Android phone using Wi-Fi and the Switch to Android app. Pro tip: keep the devices close to each other and the screen on to ensure a smooth process, and note that not every data type is 支持ed via Wi-Fi transfer.
Keeping you safe is at the heart of all that Android does. When your phone is locked, your data is kept safe by device encryption—so things appear scrambled to anyone trying to break in. Google Play Protect helps prevent you from downloading apps that may try to steal your data. And Android ensures that you have the power to choose when to share sensitive information with apps.
Yes! Android phones can connect to other common Apple products, like AirPods (using Bluetooth) and Mac computers (using Android File Transfer). For watches and other wearables, we recommend trying the array of devices powered by WearOS, or Fitbit, if you’re primarily interested in tracking health metrics.
That’s just the beginning—one of the best things about Android is the strength of our ecosystem. Not just in terms of the range of compatible devices (like Chromebooks, Lenovo tablets, Beats headphones, BMW & Honda cars, and Sony & Samsung TVs), but also in how they come together.
Android works across all of these device forms to give you a cohesive experience that’s simple and seamless. Features like Cast, Fast Pair, and Nearby Share and many more all contribute to making your digital day-to-day feel effortless.
Another benefit of choosing an Android device is that you can find a device with exceptional specs for whatever matters most to you. So whether that’s the number of megapixels in your camera (even the front-facing one!), the battery life and charging time, screen resolution, or maybe you’re looking for a particularly rugged phone — Android has you covered.
Well, first, you can expect some pointers on the device itself as you’re setting up. We don’t expect anyone to be an expert right away, so we include tips on how to do foundational things like taking a screenshot, how to use gesture navigation, and how to use other helpful features like Digital Wellbeing.
Additionally, we have an online guidebook full of videos and lessons on how to use your new Android phone, and the Help Center is always a good resource to consult.
Lastly, we also share the latest updates from Android on a quarterly basis—once you have your phone, you’ll receive those on-device, but you can also receive them via email or check them out on our blog or social sites.
Of course! The Help Center has a dedicated page on what to expect when you switch to Android. You can also find in-person help at local retailers, carrier or manufacturer stores. And if you're leaning towards a Pixel, visit our Google store in NYC.
Done switching? Make the most of your phone.
